What External SATA port for?

There is two external SATA ports come next to the main board, but I don't know what is for? I hold external SATA hard drive encloser, but it connect to USB port, not SATA port. Any one know what device that using external SATA port?

What External SATA port for?

It is a faster interface for external SATA hard drives. e-SATA is faster than USB 2.0 or Firewire interface.

There are some enclosure that do connect via SATA. It is technically faster.
The only devices I enjoy seen that run on eSATA are external thorny drives, though it is possible they might end up making external burners that work on them as capably. You have to look on the specs when you buy to see if it say it supports eSATA. Here is an example of one:http://www.newegg.com/product/product.as... as you can see it will support either USB 2.0 or eSATA.
