What is the middle (3rd) PCIex slot for on the 680i motherboard?

I be wondering if anone can give me a resolved answer or if they have used it. I hear that it was for another pci-ex video card that will do the physics, but I be looking for more details.

Thanks.

What is the middle (3rd) PCIex slot for on the 680i motherboard?

It is for a future graphics card. Nothing have been developed that make use of it yet, that I know of.
you are correct. what it is specially designed for games approaching halo 2 or games similar to oblivion beside alot of movement and graphical settings.
we may be looking at different boards, but do you mean teh really long one, that looks resembling it was an extension of the longer PCI-Express slot?

that would PCI-X, the upgrade of PCI-E x16

do you remember the aged 8-bit ISA, and the longer 16-bit ISA? its that same general opinion

its just for more upgradeability

obviously, it wont be used until the GeForce 10series probably, but good to enjoy nonetheless
