What's going on when Window Xp start up beside a blank eyeshade?

any the card is bad, it desires a power line connected, or u involve to disable the onboard graphics in bios/ see the slot ... you could also see if it boots into safemode F8 on boot ... then disable the onboard contained by device manager ..
Go into your Bios and disable your onboard video controller
Well it could possibly be that the graphics card messed up your entire computer. Lets merely hope that it didnt kill your computer. You should professionally find it checked. Because it could have kill your motherboard or even your harddrive. Good Luck! (:
You're probably having a blank blind because the Video card is not working capably. Since you're able to see the window screen, I'm guessing the drivers for the vid. card is not up to date.

I recommend going to the laptop manufacturer's websites and download:

BIOS updates, entrenched controller updates, and graphics card update. Try switching out the graphics card to the old one so that you can do adjectives this.

good luck
remove the clear card you put.. use the integrated graphic card already installed contained by your pc.. ur used pictographic card is not compatible with your laptop..
Based on where the problem is occurring, you probably own a driver issue. Boot your computer with the monitor plugged into your integrated graphics card, after see if you can download a driver for the card off of the card manufacturer's website. Feel free to drop me an email if you requirement more help.
